Medical Experts Warn of Increasing Infections if Serious Precautions not Taken

Medical experts of the Be Well Medical Center have sent an advisory notice to local residents recommending heightened precautions against COVID infections during the upcoming New Year celebrations.
With Bangkok having closed down entertainment venues, Hua Hin anticipates a large influx of domestic tourists during the long weekend. Hua Hin has a large population of Thai and foreign retirees who are a higher risk group for COVID-19.
The medical center recommends that local residents avoid crowded events and venues where hygiene and social distancing cannot be guaranteed. Be Well emphasizes the importance of social distancing, hygiene and masks.
Be Well Medical Center is a family health care center opened in December 2019.
Manager of Be Well is Dr Chris Taylor a former cruise ship doctor with extensive experience in the prevention of virus outbreaks: “The risk of meeting infected people increases at crowded indoor events. We encourage everyone to keep their distance, and those who are at high risk for severe COVID should consider staying away altogether”.
Chief medical doctor at Be Well, Dr Paemika Pidchayathanakorn: “We should all take responsibility to help each other, especially this weekend, to prevent a COVID outbreak in Hua Hin and other places not yet affected”.
